Polish media reported that one of the participants of the sex party collapsed after overdosing on erectile dysfunction pills.
Given the average age of catholic priests you'd think the Vatican could do quite the side hustle in viagra. I probably shouldn't be giving them any ideas.

Hard to think of an organisation on the planet with a wider chasm between praxis and ethos than the fucking catholic church. Although, as i was typing that, the coalition sprang to mind, and so did the ALP, actually. Not to mention the GOP and the tories....but, but...the RCC has had close to a couple of millenniums to work this shit out. They still don't fucking get it.

All those long years of working, I ignored the silly circus every single time. OK, maybe I succumbed to social pressure once, when a nice workmate organised a non-monetary game of chance. It's only a vague recollection. But it's a relief to be out of the office on this day.

It impacted me, a mild inconvenience really that was mitigated by being in houses with telstra internet connections. But i did have to drive people to a funeral on wednesday and we got a bit lost because i couldn't access a map app. Others, as the article above demonstrates, were severely impacted.
It does provide a moment of wide eyed anxiety to consider what would happen if telstra had collapsed at the same time. Our societal reliance on the interwebs is, to me, alarming.
That classic cartoon of the fiendish bomb throwing anarchist sprang to mind this week. If you really wanted to throw a bomb at a society all you need do is shut the internet down. An obvious and inevitable observation perhaps but pertinent this week.
I also noted an article from somewhere that said some people have up to 30 connected devices in their house! My luddite conclusion: don't use tech if there is a non-tech option.

I recommend OSMand, an app which uses Open Street Maps. It downloads the whole map of your state/region, and retains all its functionality when the network is down. The NSW/ACT maps use about 300mb of phone storage. It's also fantastic for bushwalking, because walking geeks have contributed a lot of data that simply doesn't exist on the others. They are cluttered with the location of businesses which have advertised their presence.
Google type maps want you to be online all the time because that's a big part of their surveillance model, so they don't let you have offline functionality (AFAIK).
I also have the same Tomtom I bought more than 10 years ago, although it's not updated any more and lots of new roads are not included, it's still good for the vast majority of journeys.

Yes, very good point. The map i use is downloaded but it has limited scale when offline. I will download a better one this weekend, i keep meaning to and keep forgetting. I'll check out your recommendation for sure, thanks Stylo.
