Hmm, Dem win in by-election in deep red Florida county.
A Democrat has shocked the nation by winning a special election for a Florida House seat in an area that Ron DeSantis carried by 12 points. This is a deep red district, and even though the totals were close, Democratic candidate Tom Keen pulled off a major upset against Republican candidate Erika Booth. Democrats are continuing to over-perform expectations, which calls into question the validity of today's polling

Now do I believe the above papercut story, not a word of it, almost entirely based on the fact that Trump almost never touches paper if he can help it, he prefers his news via social media/regular electronic media. The real reason, well who knows, it could just be dermatitis, I have seen worse, or an allergy to a plant or something like that, but whatever it is you can 100% bet that if he cut himself it would have been treated immediately, germaphobes don't generally leave open wounds open to bleed.

The first county to vote in the New Hampshire primary has returned its results, Dixville Notch (yeah I know that sounds like a place out of a Terry Pratchett novel but it's a real place), with every single voter going for Nikki Haley and none for Trump. Ok there were only 6 voters registered so that's 6 - 0 for Haley versus Trump so far lol!

Seems Trump has got to them, the Republican National Committee has put forward the motion that they just ignore the rest of the primaries, no matter what the results, and just preemptively declare Trump the Republican Presidential Nominee. Can't see that going forward without a court case or two, but of course, conservative supreme court mostly nominated by Trump!

Of course, Clowny will do whatever he can not to pay up.
Washington: Former US president Donald Trump has been ordered to pay more than $US83 million ($127 million) to a New York writer he sexually abused and defamed, in a potential blow to his campaign for re-election.

One of their big problems, which they had been told about repeatedly, is that they tried to re-litigate the original case, all this talk about not allowing evidence and experts was of course because they were trying to fight the rape case again, in a case that was solely about defamation, so her crying that they weren't allowed to present evidence about the dress and expert testimony was entirely wasted and disallowed because it actually had no relation to the current case, which was a defamation case. The woman is an idiot and she should have known that, but of course Trump wanted to re-litigate the original case because, well, he is also an idiot!

An order of magnitude too small and exactly what Trump wanted.

83 mil is a drop in the bucket compared to what he and his will plunder if given another go at the trough. Pretty sure he considers it a worthwhile investment.

This feeds straight into his victim narrative that casts the whole thing as Biden driven political interference.

Yes i know you'd have to be a moron to buy into that drivel but MAGA

There's a maximum damages penalty in NY that's 10 times the imposed fine, this works out to round 5 times that fine, and that's pretty normal because judges usually tend to go lightly on the damages penalty, it rarely gets to that 10 times and I wouldn't want Trump to be able to use that as an argument in an appeal, the 5 times damages is much likelier to stick on appeal than if it were the full ten times.

Of course none of this probably makes any difference because Trump will eventually forget himself and defame her again, which means another court case and fine, in his current mental condition it could on like this for years with her slowly bleeding him dry, unless of course a court finally finds him not mentally competent and unable to understand the implications of his actions.
