The end game of far Right activism, one vote per household, men only! It was better then!
Strange that this is coming from a black man, maybe it was also better when black men only counted as 3/5ths of a white mans vote, or, hang on, when they couldn't vote at all, or when white male landowners were the only people who could vote, yes that's how far they are probably willing to go. Hmm, hang on, maybe only billionaires should get to vote, I am sure we could get some backing for that from the usual suspects!

Texas putting Black history under the rug.
Following complaints, the Texas Historical Commission has removed books from gift shops at plantations which addressed the history of slavery. The titles were "too focused on racism and white supremacy," reports Texas Monthly.
After visiting the Varner-Hogg plantation an hour south of Houston, amateur historian Michelle Haas seemed incensed by what she had seen. At an exhibit that detailsthe farm's use as a sugar plantation worked by at least 66 slaves in the early nineteenth century, she'd watched an informational video. To her mind, it focused too much on slavery at the site and not enough on the Hogg family, which had turned its former home into a museum celebrating Texas history. She'd also seen books in the visitor center gift shop written by Carol Anderson and Ibram X. Kendi, two Black academic historians who have been outspoken on the issue of systemic racism.
The commission lied to the Texas Monthly about why it had removed the books, but it got the truth through a Freedom of Information Act request.
Emails acquired by Texas Monthly through an open-records request reveal, however, that Gravelle was concerned about the way those books presented Texas history and about potential attention from state lawmakers over what books were available for purchase. The emails also show that he had raised those concerns in February, before the agency decided to change its software system.
Conservative Republican government in Arkansas suing themselves because they don't agree with what they are doing....yes it sounds bizarre, but is entirely correct, they are suing themselves!

Redistricting to remove unfair gerrymandering in elections, Wisconsin where Republicans won 44.8% of the vote in in 2018 to give them a total of 63 of a possible 99 seats in the state Assembly. The boundaries must now be redrawn to remove unfair bias towards Republicans, I mean in theory they should have had less than half the Assembly seats, most unfair.
Also Alabama and Florida are also facing forced redistricting to remove gerrymandering.

If the giant orange turd doesn't run in the presidential election (probably because he dropped dead) it's looking more and more likely that Nikki Haley will be the GOP representative. Here she is explaining the civil war.

It reminds me of the description of AI as a "stochastic parrot". She is like a Commodore 64 running a version of Eliza tweaked to spout neo-liberal crap. Slavery is not in the code.

Will somebody who's keeping score remind me how pastors and republicans are holding up -vs- drag queens, in the "being horrid to kids" rankings?

I think it's infinity to R versus zero to D at the moment. I can't recall seeing in the last few years any news reports on drag queens except for good ones.

In news today, it seems the new house speaker is not far right enough for the far right, now just think about that for a moment and ponder all the grotesque things you have heard that Mike Johnson is fine with, and they realise he isn't far right enough for them anymore, how much further right can they go?
But the one-member threshold for vacating a House speaker, which McCarthy implemented and which led to his own ousting, is still in place.
And now, it seems Johnson’s days as speaker may be numbered.
